Welcoming our Business & Community Development Officer – funded by Sellafield SiX
We are delighted to welcome Rebecca Prince to the team at Whitehaven, Egremont & District Credit Union as our Business & Community Development Officer.
Rebecca joined us in April, in a role funded through Sellafield SiX (Social Impact Multiplied), and will play a key part in strengthening our links with local businesses, community organisations, social enterprises and residents across Cumbria.
As part of her role, Rebecca will be working directly with community and social groups to deliver practical budgeting workshops designed to help people build confidence in managing their money and improve financial wellbeing. If your organisation, group or community project would be interested in hosting a workshop, Rebecca would love to hear from you.
Tracey West, Head of Social Impact at Sellafield Ltd said “We’re really pleased to be supporting Whitehaven, Egremont and District Credit Union through Sellafield SiX funding, helping them continue their vital face-to-face support for people in our community. This funding is exactly what Sellafield SiX is about, making a real difference locally, supporting people who need it most, and helping to build stronger, more resilient communities across West Cumbria.”
Rebecca will also be focused on expanding awareness and uptake of our successful payroll deduction savings scheme. We already work with organisations including Sellafield, Cumberland Council, Hospice at Home and Shackles Off, helping employees save directly from their wages in a simple and convenient way.
Speaking about her new role, Rebecca said:
“I’m really excited to be joining the Credit Union and working with organisations and communities across Cumbria. My aim is to help spread the message about the fantastic support the Credit Union provides, while helping more people access affordable financial services and develop healthy saving habits.”
At Whitehaven, Egremont & District Credit Union, we are proud to be a not-for-profit, community organisation committed to supporting local people. We help members save safely and access low-cost, affordable loans, providing a responsible alternative to payday lenders and illegal lending.
Rebecca’s role will help us continue promoting these important messages and ensuring more people across our communities know where to turn for trusted financial support.
